I’m not afraid of water, but there’s something ominous about a metal behemoth left behind to rot. Please post others.

There is a website, can’t remember what it’s called that’s dedicated to scary abandoned ship stories in a pseudo legit guise...interesting stories that might not be your cup of tea

I sadly haven’t been to the Aral Sea, but here are some photos I took in a small museum in Bukhara, Uzbekistan:
Also, there's a great episode of the X-Files where Mulder and Scully get stuck on an abandoned ship.

Abandoned stuff scares the crap out of me, especially if it’s super old. But I love seeing pictures regardless.

I love abandoned structures and the like. Sometimes I look time by looking at pictures of long abandoned buildings.

I lived near a bay so there have been a few abandoned ships, they actually look pretty cool and scary at the same time. I feel like they look ominous when they are out of water because they look much bigger.
Also the tsunamis that Chile has had, have gotten the ships on land too.

You’re not alone. Let me help us worsen our fears. ^_^
RMS Titanic
Bismarck
USS Saratoga CV-3
USS Monitor
Andrea Doria
HMS Royal Oak
RMS Britannic
Last two:
That being said, I actually love abandoned things and the history behind them! I want to see these in person before the ocean and humans take them away!

Some people seek them and use them as a canvas. Scary for sure but lots of beauty too.

Abandoned buildings interest me. Old, shuttered stores and such.

I’m the opposite. When I see a derelict ship my brain starts screaming “EXPLORE!”

Ships in general scarouse me. The fact that we can build such impossibly complex and massive vessels that amount to mobile skyscrapers just boggles my mind.

Think they look amazing. I gave always been fascinated by abandoned things.

The SS American Star (ex America/West Point/America/Australis/ etc. etc.), what a tragedy that was. One of the best preserved and most glamorous pre-WWII liners in existence, grounded and wrecked on its way to a promising new career as a permanently moored hotel ship*.
*Or, intentional insurance fraud by an unscrupulous owner that suspiciously overinsured a 54-year old ship and opted for the most dangerous possible route option for the tow. Either way, sad.
